The 26-storey Hotel So in Christchurch was damaged during the 2011 Christchurch earthquake. The internal fire stairs between Level 14 and Level 22 had collapsed and the whole building was on a lean. The hotel was repaired, strengthened and refurbished – the building was micropiled and the structure damaged was repaired with steel elements and shear walls.
